CopperTop Tavern in Fairmount: Where the portions mean leftovers (Dining Out Review)

Fairmount, N.Y. — My stomach is not built to eat serving upon serving of the CopperTop Tavern’s Copper Nachos. At least it isn’t anymore. Fifteen years ago, when the restaurant first opened in Camillus, I would order the pile of deep-fried pasta dough topped with tomatoes, olives, sausage, pepperoni, pepperoncini, and mozzarella cheese ($14.39) as an entree, scarfing them down with reckless abandon.
Moderation is an important theme at my age, but it’s difficult to resist when this guilty indulgence of salty, savory messiness calls to you from across the table. Luckily for me and my increasingly delicate digestive system, my Copper Nacho consumption was limited as I had to share this starter with others equally entranced by the dish.
